Through this project, Coventry University will research the possibility of increasing safety using the torque vectoring capability to reduce the hazard of certain failure modes, such as tyre blow-outs on motorways.

The APC’s funding of this project ensures that a key component of moving to zero carbon electric vehicles - Silicon Carbide - has a supply chain in the UK and the technology and manufacture to ensure that change is made.

This project demonstrates the development of production technologies for traction motor production to enable production scale-up of motors produced by Magnetic Systems Technology (Magtec) - a leading UK supplier servicing the commercial vehicles market.

This project will design and bench-test an innovative transaxle and vehicle control system for 7.5-19t commercial vehicles. Further developing and commercialising Tevva’s existing battery module and pack design with active thermal management.

The project, involving three UK-based SME’s, has been able to develop a state of the art electric bus – the Jewel-E with up to 250mile range. Utilising novel HVAC design significant efficiency gains have been found.

This project will deliver a novel cryogenic engine, fuelled by liquid nitrogen, making it ideal for refrigerated trucks.

This project saw the development of an exciting new range extended hybrid electric drive-train light commercial vehicle targeting the 1 Tonne payload class and delivered innovative streamlined manufacturing processes.

The 'Make-Like-Production' facility is a manufacturing research centre which provides the opportunity to investigate the feasibility and stability of new manufacturing processes comprehensively.

The technology developed from this project will aim to improve fuel consumption by 15 to 20 percent, in turn resulting in significant CO2 savings. Through this project, Cummins has increased its thermo-dynamic analysis software which will reduce development time for future projects.

This project will develop flywheel technology for use in buses to avoid wasting energy every time a bus stops. The system aims to deliver fuel savings of around 20 per cent, resulting in significant CO₂ savings.
