LCV 2015 breaks cover – first news of the UK’s flagship low carbon vehicle event

The wraps are off for LCV 2015 with details of who’s attending and what’s on show at this year’s event now available for the event which takes place at Millbrook Proving Ground on 9 and 10 September 2015. This is the eighth edition of LCV, the UK’s  international showcase for low carbon vehicle technology developers. Organised by Cenex, the two-day event includes seminar programmes, product presentations, academic discussion, ride-and-drive opportunities and networking.

Garry Wilson, Director of Business Development at the Advanced Propulsion Centre speaking at the public launch of LCV2015 in London provided the context of how low carbon technology development in the UK is creating a Propulsion Nation. The success in attracting inward investment and encouraging R&D is leading to low emission technologies being developed and produced in UK, securing and creating jobs, especially in the supply chain. During his presentation, Garry explained the APC fundingHub and Spokes network, and showed how APC resources are helping current APC grant funded projects such as GKN Gyrodrive.

The importance of the APC was highlighted by other speakers at the event, who spoke about the thriving UK automotive sector. Joe Greenwell, CEO of Automotive Investment Organisation UKTI, opened the event by highlighting the surging automotive sector that is a shining star in the British industry. Also speaking at the event was Robert Evans, CEO of Cenex, who announced new features for LCV 2015 to cope with the increasing demand as more than 2,500 visitors are expected. Robert showed a preview of the layout of the event including the connected network of support including the APC, Innovate UK, UKTI, Automotive Council, Transport Systems Catapult and the Office For Low Emission Vehicles.

LCV2015 hosts some of the leading UK automotive technology developers who use the event to unveil cutting edge technology. The key figures and decision makers in the UK automotive industry will be attending the event, and many will be giving presentations to attendees throughout the event.
