iCOMAT is a pioneering advanced manufacturing company revolutionising the aerospace, automotive, and space sectors.
iCOMAT’s technology offers a step-change improvement in producing lightweight and cost-efficient composite structures for the composites industry based on Rapid Tow Shearing (RTS), the world’s first automated tape laying process with fibre-steering capabilities. Providing up to 65% weight savings and reduced raw material content and production time, this innovative technology can improve fuel-efficiency and lower CO2 emissions for cars and planes, while the cost reduction can further increase the adoption of composites.
iCOMAT is in the process of establishing its first factory in Gloucester and having secured substantial funding is poised for rapid growth and global expansion.
Project Highlights
- Our Technology Developer Accelerator Programme (TDAP) has helped iCOMAT mature its product offering for the automotive sector through the development of pressed body panels, made from 2D steered blanks.
- TDAP helped iCOMAT refine its business development approach, by identifying the appropriate target markets in automotive and securing new customers.
