Big in Japan – The APC heads east to develop new opportunities for the UK

The Advanced Propulsion Centre is part of a UK team travelling to Japan this week to explore new opportunities in a country where we have some of our most important automotive partnerships.

The UK has a much-envied, integrated approach to supporting automotive Research and Development and building the supply chain from academic research through to vehicle production.

The UK’s innovation agency Innovate UK is leading a delegation which includes the Automotive Investment Organisation (AIO), The Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS), the Transport Systems Catapult and the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC).

The visit coincides with Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (JSAE) Spring Congress and Exhibition in Yokohama.

Here Innovate UK’s Low Carbon Vehicle Programme Manager Paul Gadd talks to the APC’s Business Development Director Garry Wilson about the event and what are looking to achieve.
