Collaboration sparks in the National Propulsion Showcase

Collaboration was in the air at the National Propulsion Showcase this week, which played host the Niche Vehicle Networks R&D Capability Showcase.

The event was attended by a number of low carbon technology organisations and Engineers from Jaguar Land Rover to network, build relationships and foster collaboration. 13  developers attended the event to showcase their technology to an audience of Jaguar Land Rover’s expert Research Engineers. An audience the developers wouldn’t normally be able to access.

The event was kicked off with an introduction by Dr Viv Stephens, Niche Vehicle Network, Helen Finch, Jaguar Land Rover, Nick Carpenter, Delta Motorsport, and Dan Bunting, APC. It featured a large variety of exhibitors from companies such as Saietta, Frost EV systems, and Avid Technology who were recently awarded 2015 Award for Low Carbon Innovation by an SME at the Low Carbon Champions Awards 2015 sponsored by the APC.

The event was a huge success and has opened the door to SMEs for collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover. To see highlights from the event and what some of the organisers and exhibitors had to say about it, click below.

To date, the APC has invested in 10 major low carbon propulsion projects worth more than £174 million which will secure or create more than 4,500 jobs in the UK and reduce CO2 emissions by more than 12 million tonnes, equivalent to the CO2 emissions from 630,000 new cars, every year, for the next 12 years.

The fourth APC funding competition (APC4) offering collaborative consortia the opportunity to have access to APC resources closed on 1st July 2015 and the results will be announced in Autumn 2015. The next funding competition (APC5) will open before the end of 2015, but urgent applications can be considered through an ‘exceptional process’ – you can contact us here for more information.
