Rho Motion, Bloomberg NEF (BNEF), and Wood Mackenzie have also guided the demand forecast.

Some key takeouts from the report include:

  • Battery electric vehicles to account for near-total UK production compared to over a third globally and just over half in Europe 
  • Plug-in hybrids accounting for higher percentage of vehicles manufactured than previously anticipated

Our Q1 2025 Quarterly Automotive Demand Forecast reports battery electric vehicle (BEV) manufacturing in the UK is set to significantly surpass forecasts made for both global and European manufacture, with UK automakers achieving near-total battery-electric production by 2035. Globally, BEV is predicted to account for 38% of all vehicles manufactured, while in Europe it is 57%.
