Active participation across wide collaboration accelerates low carbon engines

ACTIVE was a wide-reaching collaborative R&D project being led by Ford to apply advanced powertrain concepts to significantly cut CO2 emissions to the 1.0L and 1.5L EcoBoost 3-cylinder gasoline engine. The programme also strengthened the UK’s engineering skills increasing capabilities in this area.

  • Total project value £26.2 million with nearly half being funded through the APC
