APC praises the government’s increased commitment to zero-emission technology investment

The Advanced Propulsion Centre UK (APC) welcomes the additional £1.5 billion investment in the UK automotive sector announced in the Autumn Budget 2025. This is a key advancement in the UK’s capability in next-generation, zero-emission technology, ensuring the UK remains globally competitive. 

Ian Constance, CEO, APC said:

The announcement of an additional£1.5 billion for the DRIVE35 programme, taking total funding to £4 billion, is a major milestone for the UK automotive sector. This support is a critical development for the industry, strengthening our commitment to transform the automotive sector through zero-emission vehicle technologies.

This extra commitment from the Government will benefit more than just the economy, with it strengthening the UK’s position as a global leader in advanced manufacturing by supporting international trade and investment and strengthening our critical supply chains. 

We are excited about the added opportunities the Budget 2025 presents the UK advanced manufacturing sector through this additional capital and R&D funding, and look forward to delivering it through the DRIVE35 programme.”
