Establishing the UK as a leader in dual flux electric motor technology: From advanced architecture to a market-ready design demonstrator.
This project advances and demonstrates Talos’s innovative dual-flux motor technology for automotive applications. Combining Permanent Magnets (PM) and Electronically Excited Synchronous Machine (EESM) principles in a hybrid rotor design, it offers higher flexibility and efficiency across varied torque and speed demands. Building on existing IP, they’ll develop a passenger car motor and drive demonstrator while creating a scalable design toolchain for swift customisation to varying customer demands.
By streamlining integration with vehicle interfaces, the project aims to accelerate time-to-market and enable broad adoption. The resulting proof of concept highlights the commercial viability and versatile performance of dual-flux motors.
