Morris Commercial – MARCH
Morris JE Advanced Recycled Carbon Body and Structure Using High Volume Production Process
The MARCH project seeks to advance the manufacturing technologies used in prior proof of concept and production readiness programs to the point that they will enable high-volume production of the iconic and innovative Morris JE light commercial battery electric vehicle. These technologies will be demonstrated in the manufacture of one of the most complex body structures (a front door). Independent technical and economic analysis of the manufacturing technology will be carried out to verify the high-volume cost projections and Morris business model. The demonstrator part will be incorporated into a fully drivable prototype vehicle.
Project highlights:
- The vehicle will achieve a 1-ton payload at 2.5t GVW and a driving range of 250 miles.
- Digital design tools and advanced manufacturing technologies will be employed to ensure that ambitious commercial targets are achieved.
- The use of recycled and recyclable materials will ensure that the vehicle has the lowest in-class environmental footprint.
