Lorillion – DUALCHARGE
DUALCHARGE develops a 2-in-1 Power Conversion Unit (PCU) combining an On-Board Charger and DCDC converter, suitable for applications where package size and weight are critical to the customer.
Typical commercially available On-Board Chargers and DC/DC converters are unsuitable for 400V electric motorcycle applications, due to their size, weight and the need for liquid cooling. Lorillion aims to develop a market-leading PCU that will enable a smaller, lighter and more commercially viable solution for the electric motorcycle sector, using common transformers, a single microcontroller and the latest wide-band gap switching device technology.
Project highlights:
- Developing a concept-ready 2-in-1 Power Conversion Unit (PCU) suitable for a 200-600V electric motorcycle application.
- Developed on a Vehicle representative Hardware in the Loop test rig, functional prototypes will be displayed along with a static installation on a potential customer vehicle.
- Developing an air conduction-cooling system and system control to ensure optimum temperature control in both charging and running modes, where the levels of required cooling will differ greatly.
