Transformation
The Automotive Transformation Fund, investing in a zero-emission future
Capital funding to support large-scale industrialisation.

About this competition
The Automotive Transformation Fund (ATF) has the purpose of providing capital funding to support the industrialisation of zero-emission vehicle technologies.
Its goal is to safeguard and create highly-skilled jobs, attract private investment, and drive emissions reductions, whilst securing future zero-emission vehicle manufacture in the UK by building an internationally competitive EV supply chain through the transition, upgrading or establishment of new manufacturing facilities.
The programme aims to develop a UK-based manufacturing capability for zero-emission vehicles and leverage the UK’s unique reputation in high-growth domestic and export markets.
The Automotive Transformation Fund is delivered in partnership with the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and Innovate UK.

Eligibility
To apply for funding through the Automotive Transformation Fund you must be a UK-registered company and first complete an Expression of Interest (EOI).
The competition is for businesses that plan to carry out capital-focused investment projects that support the UK automotive industry. The EOI application enables you to assess your eligibility to progress to the next stage of the funding process.

Testimonials
-
“We received funding for a Feasibility Study which helped us identify Halewood as a future EDU facility, we then received ATF funding and that was a winner. It managed to get us to a point where we could confidently predict that Halewood was the best place to make our vehicles in Europe.”

How to apply

The available grant is dependent on the proposed project and will be determined during the second stage of the application process. The grant requested should be the minimum required to ensure the sustainability of the investment.
