TaiSan – Automatic Solid-State Sodium Battery: Molecules, Cells & Module (ASSSB- MSM)
TaiSan and CPI are developing the UK’s first automated solid-state sodium battery process, enabling safer, rapid, scalable next-generation manufacturing.
TaiSan and CPI are building the UK’s first fully automated manufacturing route for solid‐state sodium batteries. The partnership combines TaiSan’s proprietary polymer electrolyte with CPI’s advanced battery process automation capability. The result is a cleaner, safer, and more scalable path to high‐performance sodium cells, with the potential for higher energy density, fast‐charge readiness, and longer life.
Project highlights:
- Every step is engineered for high yield, full traceability, and a smaller factory footprint.
- The approach is CapEx‐light: manufacturers can upgrade current assets rather than rebuild their lines to utilise TaiSan’s proprietary electrolyte, accelerating UK supply‐chain growth and shortening time‐to‐market.
- Protected materials and process IP underpin a smart business model that can be deployed across automotive, bringing safer, more sustainable battery manufacturing closer to mass adoption.
