Domin – Project Activate
Demonstrating a lightweight, energy-efficient active suspension enabling scalable solutions for future net-zero electric vehicles.
Project Activate, led by Domin, will deliver a step change in active suspension systems for next-generation vehicles. The project will create an energy-efficient and lightweight active suspension solution, designed to scale for future net-zero vehicles. By significantly reducing system mass and energy demand compared with existing active and semi-active systems, the technology enables major vehicle efficiency gains while delivering exceptional ride comfort and handling performance. These improvements translate directly into extended driving range for electric vehicles and a substantial reduction in lifecycle emissions.
Project highlights:
- The project delivery will stimulate significant investment in research, development and manufacturing, generate long-term production revenues, and create high-value jobs across the automotive supply chain.
- The project will demonstrate a flexible, scalable and energy-efficient active suspension solution encompassing advanced electronics, embedded software and lightweight system integration.
- The technology will be integrated and validated on a demonstration electric vehicle, supported by digital twin modelling and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
