Our Story

Celebrating a decade of innovation

Established in 2013 to bridge the gap between industry, academia and government, our mission remains to leverage the UK’s rich legacy for innovation and entrepreneurship and support the growth of a sustainable, domestic supply chain, focused on developing net-zero technology for a rapidly evolving market.

Our unique relationship with the automotive industry, and the political and academic landscape means collaboratively we drive the right commercial and strategic outcomes for the benefit of the UK. Our bridging position, between the industry and the innovation means we can influence up and down the ecosystem taking a science superpower to an industrial superpower.

We support the UK Government to deliver its aspiration for net-zero road transport while growing the UK’s automotive sector creating jobs and growth.

Through our research and engagement, we provide insight that drives early-stage R&D, funding that takes proof of concepts to a marketable place and strategic insight that drives industrialisation of the best technology types to benefit the UK.

The APC will support the heavy-duty sector to pick up the pace of decarbonisation. Along with ensuring the pipeline of innovation by supporting the transition for SMEs and the niche vehicle market.

SO FAR ON OUR JOURNEY WE HAVE…

Supported a range of companies and technology types, creating innovations that can reduce emissions in all kinds of automotive vehicles. These have had a huge impact on the journey towards a net-zero automotive future and the UK’s economy through jobs/facilities.
