Professor Greenwood joined WMG from Ricardo UK Ltd where he was Head of Hybrid and Electric Systems leading technology projects including passenger cars, defence, motorsport and the clean energy markets. He was also a member of the Senior Leadership team of the UK division and held responsibility for R&D, Innovation, IP and Technology Roadmapping. This included the preparation of automotive industry technology roadmaps and research priorities for the NAIGT (New Automotive Innovation and Growth Team), TSB and Automotive Council.
In addition to his extensive experience at Ricardo, Professor Greenwood has also been a Board Director at CENEX (Centre of Excellence for Low Carbon and Fuel Cell Vehicles), Chair of the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership’s Innovation Working Group and a Member of the Technology Strategy Board’s IDP Industry Advisory Board. He is also a member of the EPSRC’s Energy Scientific Advisory Committee.
Professor Greenwood co-ordinates the University’s activities as the Advanced Propulsion Centre’s Electrical Energy Storage Spoke. He also provides key academic leadership for the development of R&D activities for the National Automotive Innovation Centre.
