We are driven by our commitment to promoting environmental and social wellbeing, both on a national scale and in our local communities
We recognise the part we must play in helping to support the communities we work in
At the Advanced Propulsion Centre we recognise the part we must play in helping to support the communities we work in and help secure the future of the automotive industry.
With a recognised skills deficit reporting a significant shortage in new engineers and technicians in the next five years, we have chosen our primary focus to promoting a career in the automotive industry to young students. We are passionate about promoting equal opportunities for the next generation regardless of gender or background.
Although we are only a small team, over the last two years we have engaged in a number of activities that have had a direct positive impact on our industry and the communities which we work.
Following on from the success of our support in 2016, we decided, along with our Spoke Community, to support a further 7 schools around the UK to build and race their own electric vehicles in 2017. Throughout the year we provided financial support and technical mentoring during the build phases along with driver training before the schools competed in the IET Greenpower Formula Goblin Race Series. Our support continues into 2018 with us sponsoring 8-more schools.
31 sponsored schools for STEM activities.
