The Advanced Propulsion Centre is continuing to drive low-carbon propulsion innovation through its latest funding competition, APC 8: Anchoring low-carbon technology in the UK – Accelerating sustainable change.
Today, 10th July 2017, marks the opening of APC 8: Anchoring low-carbon technology in the UK – Accelerating sustainable change competition. The APC in association with Innovate UK, are now welcoming applications from consortia with low-carbon propulsion research and development projects that can deliver significant reductions in vehicle CO2 or other harmful emissions.
Up to £35 million matched grant funding is available through the latest round of APC competition and projects from consortia that can actively acceleration low-carbon propulsion technologies to market are urged to apply for this latest round of funding.
Consortia leads will have up until the 20th September 2017 to register for the competition and until the 27th September 2017 to submit their applications. The competition will look to fund the best in future low carbon advanced propulsion technologies that will deliver significant reductions in vehicle emissions compared to current, competing, best-in-class technologies and have the capability to develop the UK’s supply chain in the field of low carbon vehicle technology.
Projects must demonstrate the development of propulsion technologies based around one or more of the following technology areas:
Projects are judged on both technical and economic value for money considerations. Total eligible project costs will be between £5 million and £40 million and projects are expected to last between 18 and 42 months. All projects must be collaborative and business-led, include a vehicle manufacturer or a tier-1 supplier and an SME partner.
Each project is eligible to request up to 50 per cent of the total project costs as a publically funded grant, the balancing of the grant rates for individual partners within the consortia to achieve a submission to achieve this, is at the discretion of the consortia.
