The E-PRIME project, led by Ford’s UK-based Global Manufacturing Engineering team, has the vision to create unique capabilities for ultra-high volume manufacture of next-generation powertrains and the consortium will develop new processes and test them at rate while integrating new manufacturing concepts based on Industry 4.0.

Through this project, GKN’s advanced eDrive technologies will be developed in it’s UK Innovation Centre, based in Abingdon. This will further grow UK capability in the design and manufacture of eMachines and Power electronics.

This project will allow Jaguar Land Rover to achieve critical breakthroughs in the next generation of technology, through the development of state-of-art electric hybrid systems.

This project will work to develop skills in this sector, strengthening the UK supply chain and assisting SMEs to move in to new markets.

This project supported hofer powertrain to establish a larger UK technical centre in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. This facility will allow hofer to bring significant experience of electrical, mechanical and software system design, as well as production to the UK market place.

The ASTIR project will enable a set of world-class industry and academic partners to develop a new battery concept that enhances the attributes of electrified vehicles produced by Jaguar Land Rover.

The ULTRA project targets next-generation battery improvement at the cell level with the development, scale-up and commercialisation of AMTE Power’s innovative energy and power-dense battery cells to pre-production variants.

This project will create a circular supply chain for electric vehicle batteries in the UK, by creating of processes, design guidelines and a physical pilot facility to recover vehicle batteries, allowing packs and materials to be re-used or recycled.

This project aims to develop, localise, industrialise and productionise the next generation of high-performance EV technology for existing and future vehicles produced by LEVC.

The project enabled Ceres to rapidly develop a 5kW stack with increased volumetric and gravimetric power density in line with the requirements from a growing sector of automotive and stationary OEMs keen to adopt SOFC as a key green power generation enabler.
