APC13: Advancing the UK’s low carbon automotive capability

APC 13 is seeking proposals for collaborative, match funded, UK-developed, late-stage R&D, to support growth in advanced low carbon propulsion capability in the automotive sector.

APC13 is looking to fund £25million in projects that clearly align with the UK’s Industrial Strategy. These projects must demonstrate the development of on-vehicle technologies, for on or off-road vehicles. These must either accelerate the development of low and zero tailpipe emission capable technologies, or demonstrate significant changes in the reduction of tailpipe emissions leading to air quality improvements.

APC is particularly interested in projects that support the UK’s long-term supply chain, associated capabilities and growth aspirations. This includes improving productivity and competitiveness in the design, build and manufacture of low and zero tailpipe-emission capable vehicles.

This includes technologies such as:

  • Motors
  • Batteries
  • Power electronics
  • Hybridisation
  • Alternative propulsion systems
