The Advanced Propulsion Centre, in partnership with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the SMMT, is organising a series of UK Pavilions and Technology Tours to showcase the ‘Best of British’ in low-carbon innovations at major international events.

This is an opportunity to access key strategic markets with the support of BEIS, the APC and local embassies.

CES, Las Vegas, 9-12 January 2018

CES, also known as the Consumer Electronics Show, is an internationally renowned electronics and technology trade show, attracting major companies and industry professionals worldwide. The annual show is held each January at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.

For 50 years, CES has been the launch pad for new innovation and technology that has changed the world. Held in Las Vegas every year, it is the world’s gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies and where next-generation innovations are introduced to the marketplace.

The Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, alongside the Advanced Propulsion Centre and the Department for International Trade, will host a reception to discuss what the UK has achieved so far in CAV developments, give the opportunity to form new partnerships and collaborations, and be part of this technological revolution.

Auto Expo Components, India, 8-12 February 2018

Auto Expo Components Show is a showcase for the Indian automobile and auto component industry. Rapid growth in vehicle consumption and the aftermarket in India together with increasing exports are fuelling the India Auto Component Sector.  It is held every two years and the last edition saw 114,328 visitors for 62 countries.

There will be the opportunity to exhibit on the UK Pavilion at this event.

Electric and Hybrid Expo, Germany 15-17 May 2018

Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo is Europe’s largest trade fair for electric, hybrid and plugin hybrid vehicle technology, taking place 15-17 May, 2018 in Hanover, Germany

With more than 300 manufacturers and service providers from across the H/EV supply chain, the exhibition provides an opportunity to source next-generation solutions for passenger, commercial and industrial vehicles. Find cutting edge technology including electrical powertrains and components, battery management systems, materials and equipment and more, helping to reduce costs and improve performance.

JSAE, Japan, 23-25 May 2017

Held at the Pacifico Yokohama Conference Centre, Japan on the 23-25 May 2018, JSAE is one of the largest automotive events in Asia. This annual exhibition is sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan and is held concurrently with the JSAE Annual Congress. It is a key showcase event for automotive technologies in this major market.

The UK Pavilion is heading to Japan to showcase the best of British low carbon innovation. British companies will showcase their range of technologies and expertise, whilst developing relationships with key companies in an important market. 

There will be the opportunity to exhibit on the UK Pavilion at this event, as well as to present at a half day seminar.

Engine Expo, Germany, 5-7 June 2018

At Engine Expo the UK Pavilion will showcase the best of British UK innovation and host a UK Technology Forum.

Engine Expo 2017 is the must-attend event for everyone involved in powertrain design, development, procurement and production. It is a large show which sees 7,000 visitors over three days. The exhibition contains a specific Electric and Hybrid Zone and also features the prestigious Engine of the Year awards.

The UK Technology forum will present a selection of UK companies and their innovative, low-carbon automotive technologies and capabilities. The presentations will also showcase the opportunities for international companies to conduct Research and Development in the UK, including the support available from funding organisations such as the Advanced Propulsion Centre. Examples of these innovative, low-carbon technologies will be on display on the UK pavilion.

PCIM Europe, Germany, 5-7 June 2018

PCIM Europe (Power Conversion and Intelligent Motion) is the international leading exhibition for Power Electronics, Intelligent Motion, Renewable Energy and Energy Management. International exhibitors inform visitors in three exhibition halls about the newest products, trends and developments in the power electronics industry. PCIM Europe is the forum for technologies for the whole value chain of the power electronics industry, from the components to the intelligent system.

LCV, UK, 11-13 Sept 2017

LCV 2018 is the 11th in a successful series of annual Low Carbon Vehicle events to be run by Cenex. This year’s event will take place on the 12th and 13th September at Millbrook.

At LCV, the UK Government agencies will come together to showcase the wide range of opportunities available for UK technology developers.

The Battery Show, USA 11-13 September 2018

The Battery Show Exhibition & Conference is a showcase of advanced battery technology for electric & hybrid vehicles, utility & renewable energy support, portable electronics, medical technology, military and telecommunications.

The UK Pavilion is heading to United States to showcase the best of British low carbon innovation. British companies will showcase their range of technologies and expertise, whilst developing relationships with key companies in an important market.  There will be the opportunity to exhibit on the UK Pavilion at this event.

ITS World Congress, Denmark, 17-21 September 2018

This year, ITS World Congress is held in Denmark. The Congresses provides the ideal opportunity for all stakeholders to come together, discuss and make the necessary contacts to move initiatives forward and to develop their business by exhibiting and demonstrating state of the art ITS solutions. The Congresses also showcase the latest ITS achievements from the city and region hosting the Congress, and can help increase awareness of ITS in the Host region itself.

The ITS Congresses consist of three main areas:

  • Congress programme sessions and presentations of the latest developments in ITS
  • Demonstrations – showcases of current ITS technology being developed and deployed throughout the world)
  • Exhibition – exhibition booths and dedicated sessions/events.

Aachen Colloquium, Germany, 8-10 October 2018

The Aachen Colloquium Automobile and Engine Technology has become the largest automotive and engine technology congress in Europe and the high number of participants shows the existing interest of the automotive and supplier industry.

The congress provides a wide range of technical presentations addressing current challenges of the vehicle and engine industry. Program-related test vehicles, prototypes and aggregates from participating companies and institutions are presented on the ika test track

Advanced Engineering, UK, November 2018

Launched in 2009 with just 80 exhibitors and 1200 attendees, Advanced Engineering UK has grown year on year to become the UK’s largest annual meeting of advanced engineering professionals and supply chain organisations. Since its move to the NEC in Birmingham it has become one of that venue’s fastest-growing events, playing host to over 700 exhibitors and a record 13,000 2-day attendance in 2015.

As part of this impressive expansion, Advanced Engineering has launched several co-locating show zones reflecting key, inter-related sectors driving the UK’s manufacturing capabilities: Aero Engineering; Automotive Engineering; Composites Engineering; Performance Metals Engineering; and Enabling Innovation. Growth is set to continue for 2016 as the UK continues to meet national and international requirements in the high value manufacturing sector. In 2018 Advanced Engineering is back and promises to be yet another record breaking year for attendance.
