Advanced materials and technologies company has developed a safe hydrogen storage material that releases hydrogen when heated.
Cella Energy is an advanced materials and technologies company that has developed a safe hydrogen storage material that releases hydrogen when heated. Cella incorporates this into hydrogen gas generators that, when combined with a fuel cell, create a low-pressure device that is a third of the weight of batteries, or similar in performance to high-pressure tanks.
The company has two business units: portable power, focused on drones, and aerospace. Both technologies have automotive applications. Cella was founded in 2011 as a spin-out of the Rutherford Appleton Labs. The company has offices in Oxfordshire and at the Kennedy Space Center.
